Set in the heart of Monmouthshire, not only with plenty of local walks and cycling opportunities, but also an ideal place to explore the local market towns, historic sites, castles and abbeys - ideal for walking holidays. Abergavenney and the Brecon Beacons are approximately a 30 minute drive; Chepstow Racecourse is within 20 minutes drive as are the St Pierre golf resort and the Celtic Manor golf resort, venue for the 2010 Ryder Cup.
The South Wales Gliding Club is 2 miles away.
Our outdoor swimming pool is open for use from early May until mid-September and is heated to twenty-six degrees centigrade. Swimmers are able to use the pool as long as they take full responsibility for their own safety and that of their party, especially any children.
The picturesque town of Usk is 3 miles drive and an abundance of character pubs and restaurants are dotted about in the small towns and villages around.
The bright lights of Cardiff are only a 40 minute drive and previous guests have found Church Farm an ideal place to stay in a rural retreat, whilst still being within easy striking distance of the many Cardiff attractions.
For those looking for a day at the seaside, the beaches of South Wales are only an hour away. You can visit Barry Island and see the location of the popular comedy series, Gavin & Stacey.
A little further West along the coast is the tranquil Ogmore by sea and the busier resort of Porthcawl.
Further West and you can visit the award winning coastal area of The Gower, there you could spoil yourselves and have lunch in Mumbles Bay at Patrick with rooms with views over the magnificent Langland Bay.
